General Info
The way these challenges work is you make a set that is related to the theme in some way and then send it in. Each set is released with everyone else's sets, one per day, in the month immediately following the deadline. There will probably be 4 challenges per year with 4 months to complete each challenge, each one overlapping for a month to let people start on something new if the previous theme failed to inspire them or if they're just done already.
Your set doesn't have to be big or extravagant. A small set will be just fine, though you're free to do virtually anything you want. This is supposed to be low pressure. The idea is simply to encourage the creation of more sets by helping to inspire artists and provide structure that doesn't demand ultra-high quality that many artists feel is required from their own personal projects that come out whenever they feel like it.
Themes
Fairy Tales
For this theme, you don't have to do a simple retelling of the fairy tale character you choose. You could choose to reinterpret the story in some way and give it a twist. Disney princesses are fair game, or you could go for some obscure folktale that no one will recognize. You could also do Little Red Riding Hood: Zombie Hunter, or perhaps cyborg Cinderella. Just be creative and most of all, have fun!
